GPS monitoring bill becomes law

Governor Jim Doyle approved the bill which makes it mandatory for the high profile child sex offenders to wear GPS trackers for the rest of their lives. With this the GPS monitoring bill has become the law of the land. It will prevent sexual violation on children. Under the law, anyone on parole, probation and supervised release for first or second degree child sex assault is required to wear GPS tracking devices. The governor Jim Doyle commented: I understand that every day when parents send their kids off to school, they worry that something could happen to them before they return home. He further said, This expanded GPS will help law enforcement know exactly where these people are every minute of every day. The government will spend $1.2 million to monitor 285 offenders in the first year and $2.3 million to monitor 570 offenders in the second year. Read
