A meet, called ‘Location 2006′ to discus on the latest development in GPS (Global Positioning System and the space-based and ground-based augmentation systems, was held on Wednesday this week. Delegates, over 500, comprising from Britain’s Royal Institute of Navigation and American Space Agency NASA, participated in the conference. This was the second international conference, and an Indian initiative on navigation, positioning and timing. The conference went for three days focusing on defense and internal security, technical sessions and panel discussions, The session also intended to focus on the mounting awareness among the private and public segment about the usage of GPS technology, which is coming together with contemporary technologies to give cost-saving solutions.
