And in the process, the law violator is arrested. This is what happened in Santa Rosa County. Santa Rosa County man Eric William Smith, 38, accused with a domestic violence case has been caught due to a GPS alert when he tried to get into an exclusionary zone, placed around the victim’s residence. Smith who was released in pre-trial agreement was ordered to wear the GPS device. When he tried to enter into the victim’s residence near the exclusionary zone, the GPS device alerted the Santa Roa Sheriff’s Office Communication. Asian giant China now plans to introduce GPS supported navigation maps for transport and communication sector. These maps will be of multiple uses for the drivers. Sun Yuguo, president of Beijing-based NavInfo Co Ltd says, ‘Quite a number of automobile producers, both domestic and international, will install our navigating map in their new models’. The leading IT service provider LogicaCMG will work for the Galileo programme which is sponsored by the European Space Agency (ESA) and the European Union.
